We had a very entertaining Halloween season this year! Aaron’s aunt and uncle always do a pumpkin carve with the entire family each year. Ashton had Aaron to carve a skull in the pumpkin this year.
Our good friends Jared & Erin Thayne have a costume party every year. This year Aaron and I went as an Austin Powers/Go Go Girl couple. Aaron won for best costume complete with a gold tooth; gold tinted glasses, and crushed purple velvet pants. YEAH BABY!
Ashton decided a month before Halloween that he wanted to be Darth Vader. (I didn’t even know that he knew Darth Vader existed – so this was a surprise to me.) He had to dress up for preschool and decided the night before that he just wanted to wear his old Incredibles costume. His preschool program was darling. He actually sang and did the hand actions just like all the other kids. Programs are so much more fun to watch when your kid participates!
Halloween night he decided it would be cooler to be Darth Vader because it was dark outside. He asked about 100 times during the day, “When is it going to get dark?” Or whine, “AHHH, I wish the sun would go down already!”
We went trick or treating with Aaron’s brother and his kids out in Herriman. They couldn’t run fast enough from house to house! If a dog came to the door with their owner, Ashton decided the candy wasn’t worth the confrontation with the dog. After an hour, the kids would sit down in between house visits and eat a piece of candy. They were exhausted and came off their initial sugar high.
